When you first become a mom, you unintentionally lose a little bit of yourself. The little part of yourself that you didn’t really have to work too hard at and was kind of just always there. There always seemed to be a little more time for the little things, and once motherhood kicked in, time became just a flicker, and it often felt like you were the last thing to remember.
Somewhere along the line, I would say after having my fourth child and surviving those years with COVID, I reflected on the incredible little humans my two older siblings were becoming. They started juggling school, sports, and other extracurricular activities while becoming independent, hardworking, and kind little people. Fast forward another five years, and I look at all four of them with the greatest pride. Not only for all that they accomplish, but for the good hearts they share with the world and the confidence they have within themselves.
No matter how hard some of the days can be, what challenges they face, or if they’re going through some of the hard firsts of growing up, they always show up for themselves, for their friends, and for our family. I do know that no parent is perfect and that we are all learning as we go, but I do believe that if we continue to show up for our babies, our babies show up for us.
There are no people on this earth who inspire me more than these four incredible little humans, who remind me daily about the importance of laughter, making time for family, and never being too old to ride a bike or do a cannonball in the deep end.
Keep being YOU, kids, and remember to always dream BIG and be KIND. You inspire me forever and always!
